Cordarrelle Patterson returns 102-yard touchdown

The New Orleans Saints may have rumbled on to another win on Sunday – 36-25 at Soldier Field – but it was the Chicago Bears that supplied the game’s big highlight.

With just under three minutes left in the first quarter Saints kicked the ball downfield. It fell into the grateful arms of Cordarrelle Patterson and, despite being a full 102 yards from the house, the 28-year-old wide receiver and special teams veteran took it all the way home.

According to Next Gen Stats, his speed peaked at an incredible 20.29pmh as he dissected the Saints defense to give his side their first points of the game.

Patterson joined the Bears this year, after stints at the Patriots, Raiders and Vikings – at the Patriots he also got a similar score against his now teammates. This is the seventh time he has scored a return touchdown in his career, and only two other players (Leon Washington and Josh Cribbs) have more to their name, who both have eight.

The Bears now sit with a 3-3 record, while the Saints moved on to an impressive 6-1 as we approach the halfway mark in the season.
