Jared Veldheer won't be suiting up soon, for the Cowboys or anyone else. According to Todd Archer of ESPN.com, the veteran offensive tackle has decided to retire instead of accepting an offer from Dallas. Veldheer came back last year to play two games for the Packers, but has a long resume of starting experience (113 games) with the Broncos, Cardinals, and Raiders.
Tiger Woods and Justin Thomas (Team USA) will compete against Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose (Team Europe) in an event to celebrate the opening of Woods' first public course design. Buccaneers center Ryan Jensen took issue with the situation and publicly wondered why Favre could attend the game, but his own family couldn't be there.

Former NBA point guard Ty Lawson said he meant "no disrespect" after lewd social media posts about Chinese women stirred an outcry and saw him axed by China's Fujian Sturgeons basketball team. The Sturgeons said they will not renew Lawson's deal for the upcoming Chinese Basketball Association season, which starts next month, over "inappropriate remarks" by the 32-year-old. Lawson, a former Denver Nuggets star who has played three seasons in the CBA, posted the offending messages on Instagram during a night out.
