LISA AZCONA: What's up, guys? It's Lisa, and this is In The Know's "Pretty Beautiful". Today I'm going to show you how to make DIY oil absorbent sheets or blotting paper using household items. You can actually use these with or without makeup if you feel like you have oily or shiny skin, especially around your T-zone area.

Constantly buying real blotting sheets at the drugstore can get really expensive over time, which is why I'm so excited to share some alternatives with you. The first household item you can use as an alternative is coffee filters. These are probably readily available in your kitchen if you love coffee like me. I'm going to use a star shaped hole puncher and pretty colorful envelopes so I can easily carry these around with me. I'm also wearing makeup today, so I have a little bit of foundation on.

The next item is gift wrapping tissue. I'm going to cut this into circles. Make sure you use paper that is clean and unused so it doesn't irritate your face.

Lastly, this one is a bit silly and controversial, but disposable paper thin toilet seat covers actually work great too. I bought these on Amazon. And first and foremost, you want to make sure these are stored in sanitary conditions. I'm going to shape these like rectangles.

My least favorite of the three was the coffee filter. The texture is a little stiff, and it felt like it was soaking up a lot of my foundation in addition to the oil on the surface of my skin. But in general, I think they'll all do the trick and make your skin look super matte. Just make sure you dab and gently press the paper onto your skin so you don't remove all your makeup. I hope these alternatives help you save a couple bucks and keep your skin under control. Thank you so much for watching.
