Colonels come up just short against South Laurel, 63-58

Jan. 23—South Laurel entered the fourth quarter with a comfortable 46-28 lead, but had to hang on to secure the 63-58 victory over Whitley County on Tuesday.

Colton Rawlings led the way with a 25-point night for the Cardinals. He was joined in double figures by Josh Steele with 14, and Jordan Steele with 13.

The Colonels were led in scoring by Evan Ellis who had 13 points on the evening. Bryson Mahan chipped in 12, while Bryce Anderson and Lucas Queener tallied 10 points apiece.

South Laurel improves to 11-5, and will now shift their focus to Friday night's rivalry game against North Laurel.

Whitley County falls to 13-4, and will try to bounce back Friday at Corbin.
