College roundup: St. Lawrence's Dudzinski receives Liberty League weekly honor

Jan. 22—St. Lawrence University's Adam Dudzinski captured the Liberty League's Performer of the Week honor Monday for his performance with the men's basketball team last weekend.

Dudzinski, a sophomore from Syracuse, averaged 17 points over two victories against Hobart and Rochester Institute of Technology. Dudzinski went 8-for-11 on 3-pointers, including four straight in the first half against RIT.

Duzinski made all four of his foul shots in the two games for the Saints (11-4 overall, 7-2 Liberty League).

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

FLYNN ROOKIE OF WEEK

St. Lawrence's Elizabeth Flynn claimed Liberty League Rookie of the Week honors for her games against William Smith and RIT over the weekend.

Flynn recorded double-doubles in each game, finishing with 13 points versus William Smith and a career-high 19 against RIT. Flynn, who is from Brentwood, Tenn., grabbed 25 rebounds over the two games.

DAYTER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF WEEK

SUNY Canton senior Samantha Dayter was named the North Atlantic Conference's Co-Defensive Player of the Week for women's basketball after the team's two weekend games.

Dayter, from Cohoes, averaged 10 points, 9.5 rebounds, 6 assists and 2.5 steals per game during the Kangaroos' weekend split. She finished with nine assists, 12 points and eight defensive rebounds in a loss to Eastern Nazarene and eight points and 11 rebounds, including nine defensive, in a victory against Morrisville.

WOMEN'S HOCKEY

NORDSTRöM GOALIE OF WEEK

St. Lawrence sophomore Emma-Sofie Nordström was selected the ECACHL Goaltender of the Week on Jan. 16.

Nordström played in goal during St. Lawrence's back-to-back shutout victories against RPI and Union. She totaled 46 saves for the two games.

SIBOLD LANDS HONOR

The Saints' Alli Sibold was named women's Track Performer of the Week after SLU's outing in the Middlebury Winter Classic over the weekend.

Sibold, a senior, finished first in the 800 indoor event in a time of 2 minutes, 18.63 seconds. Sibold also appeared on the SLU Distance Medley Relay that took second in 12:47.65.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING

JACKEL DIVER OF WEEK

SUNY Potsdam sophomore Sierra Jackel claimed the league's Diver of the Week award for the second time this season Monday.

Jackel, from Spencerport, finished unbeaten in two dual meets, claiming the 1-meter and 3-meter dives against St. Lawrence University on Friday and doing the same against Clarkson on Saturday.

Jackel also won the award on Dec. 4.
