College fantasy football's top performers from Week 9

The playoffs are getting closer and closer. Is your college fantasy football team in the mix? Here are the top performers from Week 9.

QUARTERBACKS

Tobias Oliver, Georgia Tech, 39.50 points
Taylor Cornelius, Oklahoma State, 39.14
Nick Fitzgerald, Mississippi State, 38.14
Eric Dungey, Syracuse, 37.64
Bryce Perkins, Virginia, 36.88

Behold the running quarterback. Oliver was probably on no one’s team in your league. He started for the injured TaQuon Marshall and had a banner day in Georgia Tech’s demolition of Virginia Tech. Perkins has consistently been one of the top-scoring QBs. I picked him up this week with Jordan Ta’amu and Dwayne Haskins both on bye.

RUNNING BACKS

Matt Colburn, Wake Forest, 42.3
Zack Moss, Utah, 41.5
Javon Leake, Maryland, 38.0
Dexter Williams, Notre Dame, 36.4
J.J. Taylor, Arizona, 36.3

Colburn demolished the team that once recruited him in Wake’s win over Louisville. Leake is owned in 0 percent of leagues and had a highly efficient five-carry, 140-yard, three touchdown performance against Illinois.

RECEIVERS

Kelvin Harmon, NC State, 42.2
Tylan Wallace, Oklahoma State, 39.2
K.D. Nixon, Colorado, 38.3
Isaiah Hodgins, Oregon State, 34.1
Amari Rodgers, Clemson, 30.60

Harmon had a huge day in a loss to Syracuse. The final three guys on this list are owned in zero, one and one percent of Yahoo leagues respectively. Hodgins had his big day in Oregon State’s comeback win over Colorado. The Beavers won 41-34 in overtime after Colorado had gotten a 31-3 lead.

DEFENSES

Nebraska, 20
Texas Tech, 18
Iowa, 18
Iowa State, 17
California, 16

Iowa State beat Texas Tech 40-31 and both defenses were in the top five on Saturday. Hooray for defensive and special teams touchdowns. If you were smart you started the Huskers against Bethune Cookman. Always go for the FCS inefficiency.
