ALABAMA TIGHT ENDS
The Fearsome Foursome of Alabama’s receivers - DeVonta Smith, Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs and Jaylen Waddle - get most of the passes thrown their way and when that’s not happening, running back Najee Harris is getting his fair share as well.
Tight end Miller Forristall had been putting together a decent season with 12 catches for 131 yards and three touchdowns, which didn’t even put him in the top-25 among tight ends in fantasy points, but he is out with a throat injury. Owned in just two percent of leagues, Forristall won’t be widely missed in this matchup.
His replacement, Major Tennison, has three catches all season with a touchdown. In a matchup of this magnitude, I don’t expect the Crimson Tide to be throwing much to their tight ends.
LSU TIGHT ENDS
The Tigers also have an incredible receiving corps with Justin Jefferson, Ja’Marr Chase and Terrace Marshall leading the way. The difference LSU brings is that tight end Thaddeus Moss gets the ball a lot and has been highly productive this season.
Moss is fourth on the team with 21 receptions for 246 yards but only one touchdown, which could be concerning for owners of Moss in the fantasy game entering a matchup against a stout Alabama defense.
There is some reason to be hopeful here, though. If Alabama’s top corners are covering up LSU’s elite receivers then quarterback Joe Burrow could be looking to dump it off to Moss to keep drives alive. Owned in only two percent of leagues, Moss might be worth a shot this weekend.
