Four-time British Touring Car champion Colin Turkington will return with Team BMW for his 20th season in the championship.

Turkington, 42, won the title in 2009, 2014, 2018 and 2019 after making his debut in 2002.

The Northern Ireland driver will drive a M-Sport WSR-run BMW 330e in the 10-round series.

"This will be my 20th BTCC campaign, and I couldn't be happier with the team I'll have around me," Turkington said.

"There has been some serious work going on over the winter in WSR to enhance the overall performance of our BMW and as always, I'm focused on being the best, most competitive version of myself that I can be.

"You never quite know what the pecking order will be until that first qualifying session of the year, but I'm hopeful we can put ourselves right in the hunt for podiums and wins from the season-opener at Donington."

Turkington is the third driver from Northern Ireland to be announced for the 2024 season after race winner Chris Smiley announced his return with Restart Racing while Andrew Watson switches to Speedworks Toyota after an impressive rookie campaign.

The 2024 BTCC season begins at Donington Park on 28 April and the 10th and final round will take place at Brands Hatch in October.
