Giroux is absolutely rolling, Panthers have lost only once since trading for him originally appeared on NBC Sports Philadelphia

Claude Giroux is having plenty of fun in Florida.

And, boy, are the Panthers enjoying his presence.

The former longtime Flyers captain hit the ground running with his new team and it hasn't slowed down after his arrival. With a 6-1 win Sunday over the Red Wings, the Panthers improved to 12-1-0 since acquiring Giroux from the Flyers in a trade last month. They've scored 4.77 goals per game over that stretch.

In those 13 games, Giroux has put up 16 points (two goals, 14 assists) and a plus-8 mark while playing 18:44 minutes per game.

"Usually when they're scoring about eight or nine goals a game, I'm checking to see if he's had any assists or goals or was a part of them," Flyers interim head coach Mike Yeo said earlier this month.

Florida was super active at the trade deadline, wanting to supplement its chances at a Stanley Cup run. The Panthers have 114 points (54-15-6) and an NHL-best plus-99 goal differential with seven games left.

"I hope Florida makes a really deep Cup run this year because he absolutely deserves it," Joel Farabee said last month.
