Since the news that Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets have stalled in contract talks, the NBA media has taken a huge interest in Irving and his future in the league.

As the basketball world erupts with rumors and mock trades, it’s safe to say that Nets fans want the dispute between Irving and the organization can come to terms on his next contract. Despite TV personalities maintaining their doubts on Kyrie Irving and concern with the teams commitment to him, the Nets are better off keeping him.

NBA star and analyst CJ McCollum of the New Orleans Pelicans came to the defense of seven-time All-Star Irving.

“The bottom line is Kyrie Irving is getting an extension somewhere. Somebody is going to pay him for more than two years, it’s Kyrie Irving, he’s a great basketball player,” said McCollum. “This is a player driven league, the players have a say, the top of food chain has a say in who’s hired, who’s fired, who’s traded… So we know that Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving had a say in who was hired and will also have a say in who’s fired.”
