Chrissy Teigen, John Legend announce they lost baby boy in pregnancy complications

Chrissy Teigen announced early Thursday morning her and her husband John Legend suffered a pregnancy loss.

The model, cookbook author and TV personality was admitted to a hospital Sunday due to bleeding, she previously said.

“We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before,” Teigen wrote on Twitter Thursday. “We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.”

A mother of two children, Luna and Miles, Teigen said they were going to name their boy Jack. “He will always be Jack to us.”

Teigen shared an ultrasound photo of her baby last week on Instagram, saying her unborn child was “working so hard,” People reported.

After being admitted to the hospital, she wrote earlier in the week she was about to have her second blood transfusion, “which truly truly truly sounds more dramatic than it is.”

She attributed the bleeding issue to her “super weak” placenta, ET Online reported.

In announcing her pregnancy loss, Teigen said she is grateful for her two children and what they have experienced together.

“But everyday can’t be full of sunshine,” she said. “On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.”

Her husband retweeted Teigen’s post and wrote, “We love you, Jack.”

Reactions poured in on Twitter Thursday. Alyssa Milano, Bradley Whitford, Maren Morris and Sarah Silverman were among the celebrities who sent their condolences.
