Chloe Kim is poised to be the star of snowboarding in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
Kim is the first athlete to hold snowboarding titles from all four major events: the Olympics, World Championships, X Games, and Youth Olympics. She is also the only athlete in X Games history to win three gold medals before the age of 16.
In 2018, Kim won ESPY awards for best female athlete, best female action sports athlete, and best female Olympian. That same year she also earned a spot on Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People.
Kim studied at Princeton University in 2019 before taking a leave of absence in May 2020 to focus solely on snowboarding. Upon her return to the sport, she won two World Cup events during her comeback season. She has won the past six contests she has entered leading up to the Beijing Games.
