Chiefs wide receiver practicing for 2nd straight day; here’s the latest injury update

The Chiefs’ Thursday practice report brought continued good news ahead of Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High.

The Chiefs announced that everybody on the active roster would once again be on the practice field, meaning wide receiver Kadarius Toney (hamstring) got in work for a second straight day.

Toney, who was limited Wednesday, hasn’t played since suffering the injury in Week 11 and had previously missed six straight days of practice before this week. Whether Toney returns to live game action against the Broncos remains to be seen.

The Chiefs are expected to also have linebacker Nick Bolton (groin) on the field after he put in a limited practice session on Wednesday.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes (foot), guard Joe Thuney (ankle), safety Deon Bush (elbow), linebacker Willie Gay (groin), running back Jerick McKinnon (hamstring), offensive lineman Lucas Niang (knee), running back Isiah Pacheco (shoulder), guard Trey Smith (knee), cornerback L’Jarius Sneed (calf), cornerback Jaylen Watson (hand) and cornerback Joshua Williams (quad) were also set to be on the practice field.

That group of players practiced fully Wednesday, too.

The Chiefs later in the afternoon released the official injury with no practice designation changes from Wednesday.

In other roster-related news, the Chiefs elevated veteran defensive tackle Brandon Williams from their practice squad to their active 53-player roster.

The move was expected. Williams takes the spot previously held by defensive tackle Taylor Stallworth, whom the Chiefs waived Monday.
