Chiefs’ Tyrann Mathieu the top-rated safety in ‘Madden NFL 22’

The Kansas City Chiefs continue to have their top stars well-represented in the video game world as “Madden NFL 22” reveals player ratings for the upcoming season.

Chiefs TE Travis Kelce recently joined the 99 Club. Tyreek Hill was revealed to be one of the top-rated and fastest receivers in the game. Now, Chiefs defensive leader Tyrann Mathieu will join his teammates, showcasing real-world success in the videogame franchise.

“Madden NFL 22” revealed their top-rated safeties on Thursday, with Mathieu leading the way with a 95 overall player rating. You can check out the top-10 safeties in the game down below:

Last season, Mathieu was ranked the second-best behind Vikings safety Harrison Smith at 93 overall. Mathieu proved with the Chiefs last year that no other safety in the league impacts the game the way he does. Now, he’s being recognized for that success by EA’s ratings adjustors ahead of the 2021 NFL season.

Mathieu also saw some support from one of the greatest to ever do it, with Hall of Fame CB Deion Sanders chiming in about his Madden rating.

It’s a brand new season and Mathieu will have to go out and prove his greatness again this year. The 95 overall rating from “Madden NFL 22” should serve as a nice reminder of what he’s already accomplished and encourage him to stay the course.
