Chiefs LB Nick Bolton vows to finish NFL career with his college degree
You don’t need a college degree to score touchdowns in the Super Bowl, but for Kansas City Chiefs LB Nick Bolton, it remains an important goal left to achieve.
The former second-round draft pick out of Mizzou revealed during his recent press conference at OTAs that he’d yet to graduate and earn his college degree. His plan to finish school was upended by the COVID-19 pandemic and he had to delay some of his summer classes as a result.
“It’s very important,” Bolton said of finishing his degree. “My pop and mama all left with a degree. I didn’t have the opportunity to do that because of COVID. It kind of kept me from finishing during summer classes unless you absolutely had to have one in order to be eligible, so that kind of put me behind a little bit. But it is very important for me. I will not finish my NFL career without my degree.”
Bolton was a two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection during his three seasons at the University of Missouri where he studied sports management. The Super Bowl LVII champion has accomplished plenty thus far in his NFL career, but it’s clear that this remains an important personal goal for him to achieve outside of the gridiron and in the classroom.
