The Andy Dalton era as starting quarterback for the Chicago Bears has ended after two starts.

Coach Matt Nagy announced Wednesday the change to Justin Fields, who was the Bears’ first-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft.

Dalton split a pair of games as the starter before suffering an injured a knee injury that opened the door for the former Ohio State star to take over.

Nagy said he was locked in on Dalton as the team starter but audibled to the rookie before the team’s game Sunday at the Las Vegas Raiders.
