Cheers! Vikings will play a home game in London next season

For the fourth time in franchise history, the Vikings will travel across the pond to play a game in London.

Technically, the Vikings will be playing a home game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season, a direct result of the NFL selecting the Vikings as a designated team for the 2024 International Games.

That means the Vikings will have one less home game at U.S. Bank Stadium next season.

“We are honored to once again represent the NFL in the continued effort to make the game of football more accessible globally,” Vikings co-owner Mark Wilf said in a release. “We’ve seen tremendous international support of the Vikings with our previous three London games and with our successful bid to land the United Kingdom as a global market. Our focus will be on winning for the fourth consecutive time in London, along with replicating the incredible gameday environment we enjoy in Minnesota and creating a memorable experience for our partners and fans.”

The last time the Vikings played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London came on Oct 2, 2022, when a Saints missed field goal as time expired earned them a dramatic 28-25 win over New Orleans. That went down as a road game for the Vikings because they were not selected as a designated team for the 2022 International Games.

In addition to the Vikings traveling overseas next season, the Chicago Bears will play a home game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, the Jacksonville Jaguars will play a home game at Wembley Stadium in London, and the Carolina Panthers will play a home game in at Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany.

The opponents for the Vikings, Bears, Jaguars and Panthers, as well as the dates and times for each game, will be announced when the NFL releases its schedule.
