What do you get when you Google: “Klay Thompson parents?” Well, you get a photo of the Warriors star as a kid with his father, Mychal Thompson.
It’s the cutest thing ever also:
Me n Klay...Guess I shudda had him in a Warriors jersey pic.twitter.com/HLcIDtkGAU— Mychal Thompson (@champagnennuts) September 5, 2020
It appears to be a captured photo of a Google search that Mychal did himself, which creates more questions, but that’s another blog.
Mychal likes to share photos of Klay with special moments including one where Klay faced his idol, Kobe Bryant, not too long after the legend’s death.
He explained in the tweet how nervous he was during the matchup, and rightfully so. We all know how the Mamba mentality is. And he didn’t let up on rookies.
Mychal is a former player himself. Well, that’s a bit of an understatement, to be honest.
He was the first overall draft pick by the Portland Trail Blazers in the 1978 NBA Draft and the Bahamian basketball player became the first foreign-born player to be selected No. 1 in the history of the draft.
That’s more than likely why Klay was sporting a Blazer jersey on the hip of his dad in the photo.
Mychal also was a two-time NBA champ and was named to the 1978-79 All-Rookie team after he averaged 14.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game which was the beginning of a 13-season career.
