Chase Young always wants to prove to his mom he’s “not a liar” originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
Chase Young’s mom, Carla, was introduced to the Washington Football fan base during a post-game press conference after Young dominated the San Francisco 49ers in a 23-15 win.
Since then, fans and the league have fallen in love with their close relationship and salute Young for being the ultimate “momma’s boy”.
In a recent interview on Pro Football Talk Live, Young shared more about their relationship and why she is the ultimate driving force of his success.
“The first thing I told my mom was she wouldn’t have to pay for college when I was young, then I told her I was gonna be a first round pick” Young said. “It was something always in the back of my head, that I was always kind of doing it for my mom just really trying to prove to her that I’m not a liar. Everything that I said I wanna do, and I told you I was gonna do, I did” said Young.
No secret Young continues to keep all his promises and even on a defensive line that’s stacked with former first-round picks, he has solidified himself during his rookie campaign as a leader and playmaker. On Saturday night, he could be named NFL defensive rookie of the year.
