Three battles between area teams highlighted the final action of football in September as we turn the calendar over. Here's how area teams did last Friday:

Monticello 49, Albemarle 33

MHS QB Kevin Jarrell made history on Friday night as the Mustangs rolled over Albemarle. Jarrell became the school's all-time leader in total offense. The dual-threat QB had 183 rushing yards on 23 carries, finishing the night with 6,488 yards of total offense to pass Takeem Hedgeman's record from 2004-2007.

Charlottesville 35, Powhatan 13

CHS has won four straight games after beating Powhatan by 22 on Friday. Sabias Folley kept his fine year going, rushing for three touchdowns on the night as CHS ended the game on a 20-0 run.

Louisa 22, Western Albemarle 8

The Lions' perfection continues, but it wasn't pretty. Now 5-0 on the year after beating Western, Louisa scored a massive road win despite committing five turnovers. LCHS jumped out to a 15-0 lead in the third quarter, which was more than enough, holding on to the ball in the second half. Brandon Smith took a run 80 yards to the house to make it 9-0, which ended up being the winning score.
