Charlotte Flair: I couldn't fathom my dad not being here anymore

It’s been an emotional six weeks for Charlotte Flair.

The WWE superstar was boarding a flight from Hong Kong to Boston when she got a call that her father, Ric, was admitted to the hospital with a stomach ache.

“The only thing that really stuck out to me was my dad never gets sick and he never says he doesn’t feel well or something’s hurting,” Charlotte told Yahoo Sports this week while promoting her new book, “Second Nature.”

However, when Charlotte arrived in Boston at 10:30 p.m. ET, she was informed that Ric was dealing with more than just a stomach ache and she flew to Atlanta to be by his side after learning her father only had a 20 percent chance to live.

As we know by now, Ric kicked out and the 68-year-old WWE Hall of Famer is back home after overcoming multiple organ problems.

“I think this was an opportunity for my dad to realize that he can slow down and it’s OK,” Charlotte said.
