Charles Oliveira offers to train with skidding Tony Ferguson after UFC 274; Ferguson responds

Charles Oliveira wants to help Tony Ferguson get back on the winning track.

Ferguson, who has lost his past four fights – including one against Oliveira – following his highlight-reel knockout loss to Michael Chandler at UFC 274 this past Saturday, has been offered some assistance from his former opponent.

Oliveira took to social media to extend a helping hand to “El Cucuy,” who at 38 years old has found himself in uncharted territory in his career (via Twitter):

We’re among big dogs, up&downs are part of our jorneys. I admire you a lot
@tonyfergusonxt
. You’ve the history inside the Octagon. Head up “El Cucuy”!

If you wish, let’s train together in ChuteBoxe’s hedquarter in São Paulo for your nxt fight. You’re a brother!

Oliveira, who defeated Ferguson by unanimous decision at UFC 256 in December 2020, fought at UFC 274 this past weekend, too.

The Brazilian was forced to vacate his 155-pound title because he missed weight for a scheduled defense against Justin Gaethje, but ultimately still earned a first-round submission victory at Footprint Center in Phoenix.

Ferguson praised Oliveira for overcoming adversity during fight week to get the win, and hinted he might be warm to the idea of sharing the gym mats together (via Twitter):

I’m glad you listened 💯 Way to stay focused Chuck 💪😎 -CSO- 🇺🇸🏆🇲🇽 # Don’t let your team let you miss weight again ok Buddy. We’ll see you soon kid, be good- Champ 🥇

Ferguson is going on three years since he secured a victory. His four-fight losing skid has only come to elite competition, however, as he’s dropped fights to Oliveira, Chandler, Gaethje and Beneil Dariush.

Oliveira, meanwhile, is on an 11-fight winning streak and building a resume as an all-time great.
