Charles Barkley graced the sports community on Thursday with his annual March Madness selections. There’s nothing too egregious, except for a bold prediction that three ACC teams will make a Final Four appearance.
According to Barkley, Florida State, North Carolina, Virginia and Michigan State will all punch their tickets to U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. The Virginia Cavaliers, who crashed out in the first round of last year’s tournament, will lift the coveted trophy when the games conclude on April 8, per Barkley’s assessment.
For those familiar with Barkley’s record predicting March Madness contests, it goes without saying the Turner Sports analyst tends to be a tad off in his selections.
These guesses came after Barkley tried to correlate basketball with chess, before admitting he hasn’t actually played the board game in question. However, he heard it was hard. So, close enough.
Naturally, Twitter took note and now users are bidding adieu to their perfectly crafted brackets thanks to the Barkley kiss of death.

Despite what you might think of him, Barkley’s shameless attempts at pretending he follows NCAA basketball a week before the annual tournament is the gift that keeps on giving.
