Chargers waive 11 players ahead of NFL roster cuts
The trimming has begun.
The Los Angeles Chargers officially waived the following nine players on Monday afternoon:
DB Donte Vaughn
EDGE Davin Bellamy
TE Matt Sokol
LB Nate Evans
OT Darius Harper
WR John Hurst
EDGE Jessie Lemonier
CB KJ Sails
DL Willie Yarbary
In addition, LS Cole Mazza and OL Tyree St. Louis were waived/injured, which means they will be placed on waivers before being placed on the injured reserve.
None of these 11 cuts are surprising.
With Mazza let go of, that means that veteran Matt Overton will be the team’s long snapper to begin the regular season.
