Chargers signing Giants free agent Nick Williams

Defensive tackle Nick Williams, who played eight games with the New York Giants last season, is reportedly signing with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Williams, 33, started seven of his eight games for Big Blue before going on injured reserve with a biceps injury.

Williams was a seventh-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2013 out of Samford but never played a down for them. During his career, he spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions before signing on with the Giants last season.

In his NFL career, Williams has played in 83 games with 42 starts and has compiled 125 tackles with 7.5 sacks and 19 quarterback hits.
