Cristiano Ronaldo has rescued his sides, including Juventus, so many times in the Champions League.

This time it was Paulo Dybala’s turn.

Dybala scored twice in two minutes, including a golazo of an equalizer, as Juventus overturned a late deficit and beat Lokomotiv Moscow 2-1 on Tuesday in Turin.

Trailing by a goal in the 77th minute, Dybala settled an innocuous pass from Juan Cuadrado near the top of the box with a forest of Lokomotiv players in front of him.

Too bad. He had already picked out his spot, and Lokomotiv picked the ball out of the net after this gem (via TUDN USA):

Sensing a winner could be in the offing, Juventus kept the pressure on, and it paid off almost immediately in the 79th minute. Alex Sandro ripped a long shot that seemed to surprise Lokomotiv goalkeeper Guilherme, whose parry was sliced home by the opportunistic Dybala:

Aleksei Miranchuk fired Lokomotiv in front in the 30th minute, cleaning up a counter that caught Juventus dizzyingly off-guard:

The stunned crowd waited a long while with ever-increasing nerves for an equalizer. But Dybala delivered.

And in truth it was the fairest result. Juve dominated possession and outshot the visitors 28-5, with seven on frame. They retake the top spot in Group D on goal difference from Atletico Madrid, which eked out a win over Bayer Leverkusen thanks to Alvaro Morata.

Juve and Atleti are both in solid position to advance halfway through the group stage. But if Tuesday taught us anything, there might be more bumps in the road than expected, and stars like Dybala will need to deliver again.
