In his first year in New Orleans, Ball finished a career-best 37.5% from three-point range. However, Ball's play inside the bubble left a sour taste in the mouths of everyone that watched him and the Pelicans struggle.
If you've watched Manny Machado play defense over the years, you'd know that he's prone to making some amazing plays at third base — but what he did Tuesday afternoon surprised nearly everyone. Mainly because it happened in the right-field corner. During the Padres' game with the Texas Rangers, Machado was playing in the shift with Joey Gallo at the plate.
Last year, former Lions receiver Calvin Johnson made clear the terms for rebuilding the bridge between player and team: Refund the signing bonus money they made him repay when he retired. The team has yet to refund the refunded $1.6 million, which means that things have gotten no better between the Lions and their best player since Barry Sanders. Via Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Johnson recently said that his relationship with the team currently is “nil.”

New York Giants head coach Joe Judge has coaches and players running laps each time they make a mistake, names have been removed from the back of jerseys and the intense practices in East Rutherford are already the stuff of legend. For the current crop of Giants players, this is life now and they seem fine with it. The way I see it, it just goes with Coach Judge's philosophy.

The first week of games since the re-start were down 4% from the NBA's pre-corona average, however, primetime games on ESPN and TNT in that same time period were up 6% in viewership when compared with the first chunk of the season. In fact, according to industry sources, NBA viewership post-shutdown is up 8% versus the prior year, when compared with 2019 end-of-season games. But it is worth noting that number is comparing the same games and windows as last season, meaning that it doesn't take the afternoon or pre-primetime games the league has been forced to schedule into account, given that there are no direct comparisons.

O-linemen really have a good B.S. meter and if you're not confident in the huddle and saying the play confidently, they are going to think you don't know what you're doing so that's something I've really taken to heart and tried to do.
Chaim Bloom spoke on Zoom for a little over 20 minutes on Wednesday, and most of what he had to say was expected: yes, he's disappointed in the team's performance, yes, the pitching is worse than he expected, no, he doesn't hold any of this against manager Ron Roenicke. But tucked within that press conference was an answer that shed light on what kind of rebuild Red Sox fans should expect. And refreshingly, depending on your perspective and reservoirs of patience, the answer is it won't be quick.
