Giles: Best bets for Tuesday's Celtics-Thunder matchup originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston

The short-handed Celtics will look to avoid a third straight loss this evening as they play host to the lowly Thunder.

Boston will be without both Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker in addition to Robert Williams III, who remains out with a knee issue. As for Oklahoma City, they'll be rolling out a lineup full of players that most average NBA fans have probably never heard of, which is the main reason that they've lost 14 straight games and haven't won since the end of March.

Kemba details 'weird pain' from injury in Celtics-Hornets

Here's a betting preview of Celtics vs. Thunder -- odds provided by our partner, PointsBet Sportsbook.

PointsBet Spread:  Celtics -11 (-110)

Despite Sunday's setback in Charlotte, the Celtics are still 6-4 ATS in their last 10 games.  They've also played well as heavy favorites this season, going 4-0 ATS when favored by -9 or more.  As for the absences of Tatum and Walker, Boston has certainly struggled without them. The C's are 2-4 ATS without Tatum and they're 2-9 ATS without Walker since his season started back in mid-January.

But do not underestimate just how bad OKC has been. Over the course of their 14-game losing streak, the Thunder are 3-11 ATS and they've been underdogs of +9 or more in nine of those games for a mark of just 3-6 ATS. On top of that, the Thunder played last night in Philadelphia. In the month of April, they've played four back-to-backs and on the second night of those back-to-backs, they've lost by an average of 31 points per game.

PointsBet Total: 216

The Thunder are a balanced 7-7 (O/U) on the total since the start of April and the Celtics are 5-5 (O/U) over their last 10 games. The OVER is 5-1 when the Celtics play without Jayson Tatum.

NBC Sports Edge has a few additional numbers regarding the total that might be of interest:

-The UNDER is 13-2 (86.7%) in OKC's last 15 road games vs Eastern Conference teams.

-The UNDER is 17-6 (73.9%) in BOS's last 23 games with an Over/Under between 214-218 coming off a rest day.

-The UNDER is 30-14-1 (68.2%) in OKC's last 45 road games as an underdog.
