Giles: Celtics-Nets Game 1 odds, betting preview originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston

It's hard to take away too much from the three regular season matchups between these two teams, but the Celtics were 0-3 ATS and the UNDER hit in all three contests. The Nets big three played a combined five games against Boston and never with all three in the lineup at once (Kyrie Irving 3 GP, Kevin Durant 1, James Harden 1). Jaylen Brown (out) played in the first two meetings, but not the third.

Giles: Best bets for C's-Nets series

On one hand, it's fair to wonder if there will be any rust on the part of Brooklyn, which hasn't played since May 16th. Celtics fans are also hoping that Brooklyn's big three struggle a bit as they navigate any potential chemistry issues while playing meaningful basketball.

GAME 1 LINE

Celtics: +8

Total:  228

The total might be the most palatable play for Boston backers.  Crunching some numbers over on NBC Sports EDGE...

-The OVER is 22-12 when BRK is favored and has Kevin Durant in the lineup.

-The OVER is 19-9 when BRK is favored and has James Harden in the lineup.

-The OVER is 24-19 when BRK is favored and has Kyrie Irving in the lineup.

The Nets already had the best offensive rating in the NBA at 117.3 - also the best rating since the NBA began tracking it in the 1996-97 season.  On top of that, Brooklyn's offensive rating was 119.6 with Durant, Irving and Harden on the floor at the same time, which is a very limited sample from parts of eight games.
