Few rivalries in sports have a better history or are more intense than the Boston Celtics versus the Philadelphia 76ers.

It's an NBA rivalry that goes back to the 1960s -- one that has featured numerous Hall of Fame players such as Larry Bird, Julius Erving, Moses Malone, Kevin McHale, Paul Pierce, Allen Iverson and many others.

The latest chapter in this great rivalry will be written over the next two weeks when the Celtics and Sixers square off in an Eastern Conference semifinals series.

The first matchup is Monday night at TD Garden, and a few hours before tip-off the Celtics released an epic hype video to get fans even more excited.

This series represents the 15th playoff meeting in the history of this rivalry. The Celtics won 10 of the first 14 series, including each of the last five. The last two series were a 4-1 Celtics win in the 2018 conference semifinals and a Celtics sweep in the 2020 first round (inside the COVID-19 bubble).

Will the 76ers reverse this trend and open this year's series with a Game 1 victory? It's going to be tough, especially if Philly is without superstar center Joel Embiid (knee injury).
