New Boston Celtics forward Juancho Hernangomez had himself quite the offseason, having been dealt from the Minnesota Timberwolves to the Memphis Grizzlies for a cup of coffee before getting traded yet again to the Celtics, all while getting healthy for the coming campaign with his new team.

And the Spaniard looked excited to get to work with Boston just hours ahead of the team’s preseason debut at TD Garden against the Orlando Magic on October 4, speaking with the press about his mindset, fit, and health ahead of the exhibition contest. Having dealt with a shoulder injury heading into the offseason, there were questions on how well it was doing.

“It’s been great,” he explained. “I’m 100% healthy.”

“I’ve been working hard this summer,” added the new Boston forward. “I feel pretty fine.”

In particular, Hernangomez has been focused on getting to know his new teammates’ style of play and what his expectations are relative to that.

“I know the player that I am, I’m just trying to adapt my game to the team,” he explained. “(I) try to keep knowing each other (better), try to know the players, know what the coach expects me to do.”

Shooting is seen as a key skill Hernangomez can bring to the team in some corners, which he was asked about as well.

“I think the shot is going to fall … for sure,” he opined. “We’re going to try to build the chemistry we need to win games.”
