Celtics alum Shaquille O’Neal tells how he spent a million dollars in just one day

Financial literacy is an issue for most young people headed out into the wide world from under the auspices of their parent or guardians for the first time, but when those young people are signing checks for millions with endorsement deals coming with them on a similar scale, the amount of money one can burn in a hurry is quite staggering.

Boston Celtics big man alum Shaquille O’Neal knows as well as anyone. Despite having developed the sort of business acumen to have averted disaster, the rising star could have seen his personal finances on the rocks.

Talking with the eponymous host of the “In Depth with Graham Bensinger” show, O’Neal revealed how he burned through a coll million in just one day — and how it ended up teaching him a valuable lesson.
