Celtics alum Brian Scalabrine is all in on trading for Jakob Poeltl
Has the recent losing streak of the Boston Celtics made you feel any different about the importance of adding some more capable depth to the team? After all of our attention was piqued by reports that the Celtics had been sniffing around the San Antonio Spurs regarding the availability for a trade of big man Jakob Poeltl, it was then shot down with word such a move was unlikely to go down.
But with Boston continuing to struggle against lesser but longer ball clubs and plenty of minutes put on the legs of the team’s aging or oft-injured frontcourt players, that calculus might be beginning to change, and you can count former Celtics champ Brian Scalabrine as among those who want to see Boston go for Poeltl.
Does it make sense for the Celtics to meet the likely significant ask the Austrian center will likely demand?
Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear Scal’s take on a recent guest appearance on WEEI’s “Arcand and Mego” show.
