CB Jaycee Horn falls to Cardinals in new mock draft

Cornerback is the one position that continues to come up in mock drafts for the Arizona Cardinals. It has the shortest betting odds for those who like to bet on the draft. It is their position of greatest need.

Most mock drafts have them taking a cornerback and this new one from USA TODAY’s Nate Davis.

However, this one has one of the best corners in the draft falling to the Cardinals at No. 16.

South Carolina’s Jaycee Horn is the pick.

The son of former Saints Pro Bowl WR Joe Horn might be as good as anyone coming out this year in terms of shutting down receivers. As the Cards transition at the position following Patrick Peterson’s departure, they could certainly use a mainstay in a division where the ball is so frequently airborne.

For me, Horn is one of the four players who could fall to the Cardinals and be a best-case scenario. There is really no doubt about Horn’s ability. He has the frame, the athleticism and game play. caleb Farley brings some uncertainty with the back and the fact he did not play last season, as well as the fact he only played 58 snaps in press man. There is more projection than with Horn.

Horn is ideal. If he is on the board when the Cardinals pick, they should not hesitate to submit his name to the league.

Horn, Alabama corner Patrick Surtain and the Alabama receiving duo of Jaylen Waddle and DeVonta Smith are all the ideal players to be available.

Any of them being there would be perfect.
