Carthage Tournament: Maiden Softball loses, 3-2, to Ruston, La.

Feb. 16—CARTHAGE — In its second game of Day 1 play in the Carthage Tournament Thursday afternoon, Jacksonville fell to Ruston, La., 3-2.

The Maidens are 2-1 on the year, while the Bearcats evened their worksheet at 1-1.

Ruston led 3-0 after two complete, but the Maidens came back to plate a run in the third and fourth segments. The game was called after four innings due to the tournament time limit.

Kendi Canady ripped an RBI double for the Maidens while Abbigail Conoway, on e of just two Jacksonville seniors in the starting line-up, also stroked a two-base knock and Hannah Gonzales had a base hit and scored a run .

Jacksonville will be back in action in Carthage at 3 p.m. Friday by taking on Pleasant Grove.
