Carolina Panthers are ‘intrigued’ by Dwayne Haskins, though unlikely to sign until offseason

It could be a frustrating couple of months for former Washington quarterback Dwayne Haskins as he works to find a new path in the NFL, and hopes that there is a team out there who likes him enough to sign him to a new contract. While no moves are expected to be made until the offseason, there are some growing reports that a number of teams are at least interested in him, and some will not be shy to give the former first-round pick a chance to come into their program and prove himself somewhere out of the spotlight.

Among those teams is the Carolina Panthers, who just got an up-close and personal look at Haskins last week, where he was eventually benched in the fourth quarter from his poor play.

The Panthers are currently led by QB Teddy Bridgewater, but there is always a chance that a few years down the road they could need somebody new to step up. It could be a great opportunity for Haskins to grow out of the limelight and find a way to learn how to be a franchise quarterback. It would also be yet another connection between the Washington and Carolina franchises, of which we’ve seen many over the past year or two.
