We've all heard the saying, "Diamonds are a girl's best friend."
But, wearing some ice isn't just for the ladies. NBA players are well known to sport chains covered in diamonds.
Trail Blazers forward Carmelo Anthony is one of those players.
And for Christmas, Melo's son Kiyan wanted to do something special for his dad.
We've all heard the saying, “The imprint of a dad will forever remain on his son.”
But, now, Kiyan hopes to imprint a little something on his dad.
WOW!!! That is something!
While the details of this custom chain from Mazza New York aren't immediately known, this rendering showcases Kiyan from the chest up connected to a rose gold (or similar) chain, spinning a basketball on his finger, wearing a number 7 jersey that's covered in diamonds. On the front of the jersey it reads "Black Ops," a reference to the video game Call of Duty, while on the back it reads "Always with you dad, Love Kiyan."
Mazza New York is located in the heart of New York’s Diamond District and is owned by Paul Mazza. They specialize in high end watches and custom gold jewelry. "Each of our pieces are specially produced to nurture our client’s individuality and imagination," according to the jewelry maker's website.
Anthony and Mazza have a previous relationship, as well, and we've likely seen other pieces of Mazza's work around Melo's neck.
It's not known the cost of this custom chain, but a white gold chain similar to the look that is part of Melo's custom chain is $22k alone. That's not including what would be hanging from the chain.
Right now, it appears it's just a concept and not a finished product, but we're excited to see the finished product when Melo wears it to a game in the near future.
