Carl Junction tops Neosho for 7th place

Jan. 6—Carl Junction raced out to a 21-2 lead and never looked back as it topped Neosho 58-37 on Saturday morning in the seventh-place game of the Kaminsky Classic at Joplin High School.

The Bulldogs (6-6) allowed the Wildcats (4-9) to get within 10 at halftime with the scoreboard showing 28-18. But there was no second-half comeback in store.

Deacon Endicott registered a double-double for CJ with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Brody Pant added 13 points and seven rebounds while Wyatt McAfee grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds and scored 8 points.

Ty Harris was the only Wildcat to score in double figures with 11 points.

Carl Junction plays again Friday when Colgan (Kansas) High School comes to CJ for a 7 p.m. tipoff; Neosho goes to Willard on Thursday for a game set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
