Former Major League Baseball outfielder Carl Crawford is “at a loss for words” after a woman and a 5-year-old boy drowned in Crawford’s pool in May. Crawford addressed the drownings in an Instagram post Saturday, saying he’s keeping them in his prayers.
The incident occurred during a gathering at Crawford’s house May 16.
The 5-year-old boy reportedly fell into the pool. The woman, 25-year-old Bethany Lartigue, jumped into the pool to save the boy. Both Lartigue and the boy were unable to get out of the pool, according to TMZ. Crawford, 38, reportedly tried to revive both the woman and the boy.
Lartigue and the boy were reportedly at Crawford’s home to film a music video, according to KHOU 11. After retiring from MLB following the 2016 season, Crawford started a record label.
