Cardinals TE coach Steve Heiden leaving to join Dan Campbell’s staff on Lions

The Arizona Cardinals are losing another one of their position coaches. The latest is tight ends coach Steve Heiden.

According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, Heiden is leaving to coach tight ends for the Detroit Lions under head coach Dan Campbell.

Heiden survived three different head coaches for the Cardinals.

He joined the staff in 2013 under Bruce Arians. He was a special teams assistant and an assistant tight ends coach. In 2018, under head coach Steve Wilks, he was the assistant offensive line coach to Ray Brown.

In 2019, with Kliff Kingsbury, he was promoted to tight ends coach, which is has been for four seasons.

Last November, after offensive line coach Sean Kugler was fired, Heiden stepped into the role of offensive line coach.

With Kingsbury being fired, it seemed inevitable that there would be major changes on the offensive staff. It is goo to see Heiden land somewhere already.
