Cardinals set to face Browns’ beefed-up pass rush after addition of Jadeveon Clowney

The Arizona Cardinals’ schedule appears to have gotten just a little bit harder. They will face the Cleveland Browns this coming season on the road. It is the added game to the new 17-game schedule for the coming season.

That game got a bit more difficult because of the Browns’ latest free agent signing. They have added edge defender Jadeveon Clowney.

Clowney is one of the most talented edge defenders in the league. He is great against the run and is very disruptive in the passing game, although he has never had a 10-sack season.

He is a three-time Pro Bowler but has battled little injuries throughout his career. He played in only eight games last season for the Tennessee Titans and did not log a single sack. He had three in 2019 for the Seattle Seahawks.

He will play opposite Myles Garrett, giving the Browns a fearsome pair of pass rushers on either side of the defense. Cardinals tackles D.J. Humphries and Kelvin Beachum will have their heads full.

Of course, the Cardinals have their own pair of dynamic pass rushers of their own. They have Chandler Jones and J.J. Watt, Clowney’s former teammate with the Houston Texans.

It will be a game to be sure to see, between the promise of both teams, the connections between Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and Browns starter Baker Mayfield and now the pairs of great edge defenders.

Whenever it ends on the schedule, it will be must-see television.
