Cardinals are longshots to land Texans QB Deshaun Watson

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson very possibly has played his final snaps with the team, according to a report by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. One of the league’s best young signalcallers could be on the trading block.

As a result, there are odds for which team he plays for next season.

According to SportsBetting.com, the New York Jets are the favorites, with 2/1 odds.

The Arizona Cardinals are longshots, and understandably so.

They already have a young franchise quarterback in Kyler Murray. However, where Watson is now as a player is more or less what everyone believes Murray can be. It is not completely crazy to think the Cardinals could pull off a trade for Watson. After all, they already have receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who was his teammate in Houston until his trade to the Cardinals.

That said, it is highly unlikely and the odds reflect that. They are given 70/1 odds. Only four teams have longer odds — all teams who have established franchise quarterbacks. The Baltimore Ravens are 70/1 like the Cardinals. The Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks are 100/1, the Green Bay Packers at 200/1 and the Kansas City Chiefs are 300/1.

The top four teams are the Jets at 2/1, the Miami Dolphins at 3/1, the Chicago Bears at 4/1 and the Denver Broncos at 5/1.
