WATCH: B's fans give Zdeno Chara standing ovation originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston

Zdeno Chara finally got the warm welcome back to Boston he deserved when his Washington Capitals visited the Bruins on Sunday night.

The former B's captain received a touching video tribute last month at TD Garden, but this time he got to play in front of the fans who cheered him on for 14 years. During the first period, Chara received a standing ovation and another video tribute on the jumbotron.

Another unforgettable moment for the Bruins icon.

At 44 years old, Chara has been a difference-maker on the Capitals' blue line this season. The B's certainly could have used him in the first period of Sunday's action as Boston's defense allowed three early Washington goals.
