Capitals vs. Hurricanes: Time, TV Channel, Live Stream, how to watch

Saturday's 5-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils may have been the low point in the Capitals season. Following a 3-2 loss to Philadelphia earlier in the week, the Capitals were unable to do anything against one of the worst teams in the league. The power play continues to struggle, and their lead in the division continues to shrink.

Things are not going well right now, but that has a chance to change on Monday night. Not only can the Capitals pick up a much-needed win, but they can do it against a team that is quickly becoming the rival.

After a grueling seven-game series against the Carolina Hurricanes in last year's playoffs that saw Carolina come out on top, there has been no love lost between the two teams. Plenty of petty moments have turned the Capitals and Hurricanes into budding rivals. The two have seen a lot of each other quite recently, as this will be the third matchup since December 28. Each team has won one game.

Hurricanes: James Reimer (10-6, 3SO) and Petr Mrazek (17-10, 3SO), G: No matter who starts in goal on Monday night, a struggling Caps offense will have a hard time getting back on track. Both Reimer and Mrazek have been rock solid in the net, and it is the first time in team history two goalies have each recorded three shutouts.

Capitals: Evgeny Kuznetsov (16,26,42), C: Prior to Sunday's poor showing all around, Kuznetsov had been riding a seven-game point streak. If the Capitals want to get back to their winning ways, they'll need more production from Kuzy.
