The Washington Capitals (7-4-3) host the Columbus Blue Jackets (8-6-1) in Washington's fourth game of a five game homestand.
Coming off a big, come-from-behind 2-1 home victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins, another Metropolitan Division opponent is on the docket.
With back-to-back wins and three straight games with recording a point, the Capitals are trending in the right direction against quality opponents. It will be another big challenge when the Blue Jackets come to town, as they are in a similar situation as the Caps. Both teams are trying to turn a back-and-forth start to the season into a strong stretch in November.
Recent history has this matchup being a good one, including their First Round matchup last season. Both squads have been in the playoffs and near the top of the standings the past several seasons.

CAPITALS vs. BLUE JACKETS INJURY REPORT
Blue Jackets: N/A
CAPITALS vs. BLUE JACKETS PLAYERS TO WATCH
T.J. Oshie, RW, Capitals: It was a phenomenal comeback/ revenge for T.J. Oshie against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday. After being hit in the head twice, he cleared concussion protocol and returned to score the game winner. Oshie has scored in back-to-back contests and now has recorded a point in three games in a row. Assuming there are no lingering effects from his head hits, this may have sparked his season.
Sergei Bobrovsky, GK, Blue Jackets: It was an awful start to the season for Sergei Bobrovsky. In his first six outings he allowed 23 goals. He has allowed seven goals in the past four. Which version of Bobrovsky the Capitals see on Friday night likely will determine the outcome.
