After losing the past two games and Alex Ovechkin being held goalless en route to No. 700, the Capitals head West for the beginning of a three-game road trip, starting with the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday.

The Avalanche are coming off of a 3-0 victory over the Ottawa Senators, former Capital Philipp Grubauer recording the shutout with 34 saves and Andre Burakovsky, another former Cap, had an assist.

The game will be broadcast nationally on NBC Sports Network and was pushed back a half an hour to 9:30 p.m. Will this be the game Ovi gets No. 700? Tune in to find out.

CAPITALS vs. AVALANCHE PLAYERS TO WATCH

Alex Ovechkin, LW, Capitals (40-17-57): Alex Ovechkin is only two goals away from his monumental, 700th career goal. All eyes are on Ovi as he hopes to get it done against the Avalanche.

Andre Burakovsky, LW, Avalanche (17-24-41): Since being traded to the Avalanche, Burakovsky has improved immensely with his new team as the No. 3 producer with 17 goals and 24 points on the squad. Burakovsky has always been fast, but the Avalanche's quick style of play has made him even faster.
