Combo Breaker is in its third year, representing the CPT as a Ranking Event for Ultra Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter V the last two years.

Tournament organizer Rick “The Hadou” Thiher responded to the announcement on Twitter:

Yesterday, Capcom teased that full details for the CPT 2017 will be coming in late February and that it intends to reveal more Premier Events leading up to the reveal. Combo Breaker is the second confirmed Premier Event, with Final Round being the first.

Combo Breaker will host numerous fighting game tournaments, including Tekken 7, Super Smash Bros. Melee and Wii U, and most peculiarly, a Super Street Fighter II Turbo tournament featuring a full-size arcade cabinet as the grand prize.

Justin Wong took first place at Combo Breaker 2016, making it his fourth straight tournament win at the time. He finished CPT 2016 with seven Ranking Event victories overall.

Combo Breaker takes place May 26-28, 2017 in St. Charles, Illinois. Registration is open and you can find more news and information at the official site.
