Canucks coach Boudreau not a fan of 'Bruce There It Is' chant
The Vancouver Canucks are red-hot since bringing in head coach Bruce Boudreau, but he does have one thing he would change about their win streak.
Since the hiring of the veteran bench boss and the complete dismantling of their front office, the Canucks have been treated to winning their first four games of the new regime. But after their most recent 2-1 win over the Stanley Cup-contending Carolina Hurricanes, Boudreau has made one thing clear: Stop singing “Bruce There It Is.”

“It certainly is nice coming to a new town and having a little bit of success, but I wish they’d stop singing that stupid song, though, in the stands,” Boudreau said.
To the tune of “Whoop! There It Is” fans in Rogers Arena have been chanting the coach’s name in celebration for shaking them loose of the incessant losing they have done this season. While the winning has certainly not grown stale, the song – that has been adopted by the Vancouver game operations staff, so now the fans have the backing track played on the arena sound system during the song – is getting old for Boudreau.
Canucks fans will get many more opportunities to literally sing their praises, as the team will play five of its next seven games in Vancouver. Maybe this is just the start of supporter-led songs in the NHL, or it might be a drop in the pan that will get quickly wiped away by the coach himself.
Either way, these fans are enjoying their team for the first time in a very long time.
