It’s the shot the city and the country needed.

Eighteen years of “what if” over the Vince Carter fadeaway at the buzzer against those very Philadelphia 76ers were finally erased on an unforgettable Sunday night, courtesy of Kawhi Leonard’s fadeaway that bounced and bounced and bounced before finally falling through the hoop, sending the Toronto Raptors to the Eastern Conference Finals.

It’s a moment that will be etched in the minds of Raptors fans forever, and should infuse a level of passion for the game in Canada in just the same way Carter’s acrobatics did during his hey day.

There were some incredible reactions to the shot, but no better place to start than Jurassic Park.

Former Maple Leaf and Toronto native Carlo Colaiacovo showed his passion for the Raptors as well with his celebration.

Eli and friends perfectly encapsulate the moments of the shot looking like it was no good, before bobbling around the rim and then finally going in.

Who knows, maybe Leonard was just trying to send the best possible gift to all the mothers out there.
