University of Mount Union students were acknowledged at the institution's Senior Recognition and Honors Convocation. Local students honored were:

  • Clay Harvey, of West Salem was awarded All-Ohio Athletic Conference Outstanding Academic Status at the 2022 Mount Union Honors Convocation. Harvey plays football at the University of Mount Union. These student-athletes are recognized as achieving varsity status and holding at least a 3.500 cumulative grade point average during the current academic year.

  • Naomi Pokrzywa, of Ashland was awarded All-Ohio Athletic Conference Outstanding Academic Status at the 2022 Mount Union Honors Convocation. Pokrzywa is part of the Women's Track and Field Team at the University of Mount Union. These student-athletes are recognized as achieving varsity status and holding at least a 3.500 cumulative grade point average during the current academic year.

Each year, the convocation honors graduating seniors and underclass students who have excelled academically, displayed excellent leadership skills and shown dedication to the University and community through outstanding community service initiatives.

— The Regula Center at Mount Union coordinated a Saturday morning of service for students on April 23. Jakob Yarosh from Nova took part in this community service. Mount Union students who participated focused their efforts on projects with Habitat for Humanity helping at both the ReStore and a home rehabilitation site during the morning.

Volunteers from Mount Union worked alongside the local Kiwanis and Key Clubs and community members with an interest in downtown. Volunteers worked with a city commission to do a clean up on Main Street and assisted with spring clean up at Memorial Park. The project mobilized nearly 20 students.

Tristan Reiheld, a Loudonville High School graduate, is a candidate to graduate from Utah State University with a(n) Associate of Applied Science in Aircraft Maintenance Technician - Airframe and a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Technology - Maintenance Management. Reiheld is eligible to earn a degree from Utah State University and is among the 6,588 students eligible to receive degrees and certificates from USU's statewide campuses or USU Online. The 2022 graduating class includes graduates from summer and fall 2021 and spring 2022 semesters. USU Statewide campuses have held graduation ceremonies through the past several weeks. The USU main campus ceremonies will be held May 5 in Logan.

Keirah Smetzer of Ashland, has graduated from Ohio Dominican University with a/an BS in Biology. Smetzer is among 189 students who earned their degree following ODU's spring 2022 semester.
